Cultivating students' interest is the need of "quality-oriented" teaching,Students' interest in learning is closely related to their academic performance,In China, there are few research tools for measuring chemistry learning interest based on item response theory.Based on item response theory and using Rasch model, this study developed a tool to measure students' interest in chemistry learning. The measurement tool realizes the isometric measurement of interest in high school chemistry learning, and ensures the accuracy of the measurement results by determining the grade scientifically. After the tool was formed initially, the students of a middle level high school in Jilin Province were selected for the preliminary test, and the tool was revised according to the preliminary test results. The tool ended up with 29 items on a four-point scale. The results are analyzed as follows:(1)The overall Infit MNSQ of the evaluation tool was 1.00,Outfit MNSQ value is 1.02,Infit ZSTD value is-0.2,Outfit ZSTD value is0.0,which are all within the acceptable range with a separation degree of 10.75 and a reliability of 0.99.(2)Most of the items have good single-dimension,indicating that the evaluation results are not affected by other factors except interest.(3)The 29 projects can basically cover students of different interest levels, and the distribution of the projects is basically consistent with the preset level.(4)Each grade of the probability curve is relatively flat and has an obvious peak value, indicating that the 4-point scoring is reasonable.(5)Good fitting of each project-data model.(6)Through independent sample T test,it was found that there was no significant difference in chemistry learning interest among students of different genders and grades. In conclusion, the tool developed in this study has achieved isometric measurement, reasonable scoring grade and good reliability and validity.
