The newly revised 2017 edition of Biology Curriculum Standards for General High Schools puts forward the basic concepts of "core literacy as the purpose" and "content focusing on the big concept",which requires students to develop their core literacy through learning biology concepts in the education process.However,unit teaching is a medium level teaching design between course planning and class hour teaching design.Many scholars believe that unit teaching is helpful to improve the shortcomings of knowledge fragmentation existing in the traditional class hour design and promote the development of students’ core literacy.This study combines the two organically,focusing on the concept of biology for unit teaching design research,so as to to test whether it can help students master the unit knowledge structure and concept,and develop their core literacy.Firstly,this paper analyzes the existing literature by literature research method,determines the relevant concepts and connotations,summarizes the research status at home and abroad,and summarizes the research significance,research content and research methods.Secondly,the unit teaching design process focusing on the concept of biology is developed based on the general model.Then,the unit teaching design case of "the structure and function of cell membrane" was designed by using the development process.Furthermore carry on the practice research according to the case,and the following research conclusions are drawn by analyzed the results of the practice.1.Developed a unit teaching design process focusing on biology concepts,which can be used as a reference for front-line teachers to design unit teaching cases.2.Through the unit concept system diagram of "cell membrane structure and function" constructed by students,it is found that unit teaching focusing on biological design concept is helpful for students to construct biological concept system;3.The unit active task evaluation sheet and learning evaluation can help the students in the process of seeking and interpretation evidences in the unit,let the students from the evaluation of the object into the evaluation of the object and evaluation of the fusion of the subject,to develop students’ metacognitive ability.Let the students testing and reflection on their learning behavior,planning the learning process and better learning unit.4.According to the results of student unit test,the average score of the experimental class is higher than that of the control class.The independent sample t-test results show that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class.
