Cultivating Students' Critical Thinking Based On HPS ——Taking Junior High School Physics Teaching As An Example

HPS is the first letter of History of science Philosophy of science Sociology of science.HPS education is the infiltration of the history of science,philosophy of science and sociology of science in the process of education to interpret and understand science.There have been a large number of research using the history of science to teaching in various subjects.Facing the era of information explosion,the needs of social development,the needs of cultivating successors and and the need of curriculum reform,it is imperative to cultivate students' critical thinking.Using literature methodology to read the literature found that there are closely connection between critical thinking and HPS education.To explore the influence of the HPS education mode applied in teaching students' critical thinking tendency,before the teaching experiment using the students' critical thinking tendency scale to test the students.The results show that the overall critical thinking of junior high school students is weak,Whether students have been a class leader will differ in some dimensions of the critical thinking tendency,and the educational level of parents affects some dimensions of critical thinking.In the dimension of critical thinking confidence,it shows a weak tendency.Combined the integration mode proposed by Monk and Osborne and the actual situation of physics teaching in junior middle school,and make teaching design.After the teaching experiment,the final grade and questionnaire results were analyzed again for the experimental class and the contrast class.The level of students' critical thinking tendency is evaluated and combined with the examination paper analysis.The results show that HPS teaching mode has a positive impact on the improvement of students 'performance by research and experiment,which can improve the score rate of students' physical knowledge in society and humanities,the experimental class performance than the contrast class.In addition,the search of truth and systematic are improved,and the influence of HPS teaching mode on the development of students' critical thinking is at a medium level.It is conformed that the application of HPS teaching mode is helpful to improve students' critical thinking level.
