In the 21 st century,the implementation of key competency not only requires teachers to reflect on traditional teaching in the light of the current situation,but also requires the integration of new teaching design elements in curriculum teaching.UbD(Understanding by Design,translated as instructional design in pursuit of understanding),as a new instructional design model emerging in the United States recently,has obvious effects in cultivating students' understanding of the core content of the subject.More importantly,the UbD model provides a novel and practical research direction for language classroom teaching in China.Therefore,this study introduces the UbD model into the Chinese teaching design of middle school,analyzes the feasibility and specific operation procedures of applying the UbD model to the Chinese teaching design of middle school,and makes it more suitable for Chinese teaching to achieve the purpose of "teaching for understanding ".Firstly,an introduction of this paper will be stated about the reason for choosing the topic,as well as the research significance.The following content will focus on the development of the UbD model and the research status at home and abroad,understanding the achievements and deficiencies of the existing research.The first chapter is an overview of the UbD model.Through theoretical tracing and comparative research,the reverse design structure of the UbD model,which "determines teaching objectives based on curriculum standards and learning situations and develops assessment evidence before designing teaching activities",is clarified.The second chapter understands the current situation of the teaching design of Chinese teachers in middle school by means of questionnaire,which can find that there are some problems in it.Firstly,the teaching design procedure tends to be static;secondly,the teaching design is difficult to meet the requirements of the curriculum standards;thirdly,the teaching evaluation design is absent.The third chapter clarifies the necessity,feasibility and practical requirements of middle school language instructional design based on UbD model according to the current situation of teachers' instructional design,combined with textbooks,curriculum standards and learning conditions.The fourth chapter is mainly combined with reverse design and Chinese teaching practice,to explore the operation procedure of Chinese teaching design in middle school based on UbD model.It mainly includes the design of teaching objectives,evaluation and activities.According to the procedure,the lesson of "Grannie Liu Enters the Grand View Garden" was taken as an example to carry out the content of backward design and classroom implementation,finding that instructional design based on the UbD model helps teachers change their teaching thinking and promotes consistency in teaching,learning,and evaluation.Finally,the research is summarized,and suggestions are put forward to better implement the UbD model in Chinese teaching.
