Interest is the best teacher,but students tend to have low interest and unclear motivation in learning.Therefore,we use the ARCS motivational design model to design teaching and try to solve the current shortage of teaching and learning.To explore whether the model is suitable for junior high school mathematics teaching and effectively stimulate students' motivation to learn,we used this model to design the teaching and traditional teaching for comparison,then carried out empirical teaching research.In this paper,mathematics teachers and students in the second grade of a middle school were taken as the research object,selected six mathematics teachers classroom observation,analyzed their use of motivating strategies in the mathematics classroom,the teacher was found in the use of motivational strategies vulnerable to their own style influence,and there is a lack of methods and forms such as a single phenomenon.The experimental comparison design of the experimental class and the control class was carried out before and after the test.SPSS21.0software was used for measurement and evaluation.Research findings show that the ARCS motivation design teaching experimental class students' motivation level is higher than the control class students,the relevant data for further analysis found that there was no obvious change in the motivation level and achievement level of students in the outstanding experimental class,a greater impact on the level of achievement motivation level and four levels were significantly increased for middle-achieving students,and students with poorer performance have improved their motivation in both C(Confidence)and S(Satisfaction)levels,simultaneously,their achievement levels have also been improved.We made the following recommendations based on empirical analysis,1 ARCS model can not cover all situations arising,we should combined with the actual creative use this mode in the course of teaching.2 The model has a greater impact on students with moderate grades and poor performance.We should pay more attention to such students in the teaching process.As the same time,we should continuously improve and perfect the model.
