China is a big country in education and human resources,but it is undeniable that China is still not yet a big country in education or human resources.At present,we are in the process of globalization,and the rise and development of key competencies research makes our country realize that key competencies is very important for the cultivation of talents.This study aims to investigate and analyze the current situation of music teaching in primary schools in Zhonglou District of Changzhou city from the perspective of key competencies.On the theoretical basis of The Chinese key competencies system and the key competencies of high school music discipline,and based on the primary school music curriculum standard(2011),analysis concludes the key elements of the subject core literacy cultivation in compulsory education music curriculum standard,is the key ability and the essential character,and through the field investigation and study,understand the present situation of the local primary school music course teaching.Finally,according to the results of the comparison between the key elements and the teaching situation,the corresponding suggestions are put forward.After stratified sampling,the author randomly selected 20 music teachers from 3sample schools in Changzhou City Zhonglou District and 180 students from sample schools as research samples.The author used self-compiled questionnaires to investigate the current situation of music teaching in primary schools in Changzhou City Zhonglou District.A total of 18 valid questionnaires for teachers and 158 valid questionnaires for students were collected.After quantitative analysis of the questionnaire data,the survey results are as follows:1.The lack of teachers' cognition of the core literacy of music discipline leads to the emphasis on basic competence and the neglect of key competence of music discipline.2.Music practice activities are not rich,students' artistic expression ability is not comprehensive and solid;3.Music creation teaching is set up too simple,students can not flexibly use the knowledge.4.Music creation activities are extensive and superficial,and the cultivation of students' creative thinking and creative practice ability is deficient.
