Since China put forward “high moral value establishment and people cultivation”as the basic task of education in 2012,to deeply answer the question of “what virtues to pursuit and what kind of talent to cultivate in education”,Beijing Normal University,together with nearly 100 experts from many universities,had conducted the Research of "Chinese students develop Key Competencies” and published the Chinese Key Competencies System for Student Development in 2016,which includes three major areas,six qualities and 18 points.Meanwhile,the Music Discipline Key Competencies derived from the Key Competencies is the key link between the Key Competencies education concept,the music discipline education objectives and curriculum teaching direction.Music education is changing towards “building virtue and humanity" and emphasizes more on the comprehensive ability of people.Therefore,under the vision of Key Competencies,how to use and improve modern education methods such as Orff teaching method to meet the current guiding ideology of Chinese Music education,based on Establishing moral values and cultivating students' Key Competencies is a significant issue to be considered and solved in the field of primary school music education at present.This thesis focuses on the basic content of Key Competencies and its essential connection with Music Discipline Key Competencies and reorganizes the requirements and goals of primary music education.Through the analysis of the concept and content of Orff teaching method,the suitability and advantages of Orff teaching method in primary music education under the background of Key Competencies is discussed.Then taking the music classroom of Chengdu Gaoxin Yizhou Primary School as an example,designing teaching cases and practicing to analyze how the primary music classroom can achieve the "Key Competencies development of Chinese students" through Orff teaching method.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the background and significance of the thesis,sorts out the current situation of research on Key Competencies and its development in music discipline and the application of Orff teaching method,and determines the content and method of this research.The second part elaborates the basic theory of Key Competencies and the connotation of Music Discipline Key Competencies,sorts out the requirements of primary music education,and discusses that more emphasis should be placed on the new needs of moral cultivation and cultural and artistic background in elementary school music education.The third part introduces the concept and content of Orff teaching method,analyzes the correlation between Orff teaching method and Key Competencies of music discipline,and concludes that the essence of Orff teaching method is theoretically consistent with the new needs of primary music education.The fourth part takes the music classroom of Chengdu Gaoxin Yizhou Primary School as an example.Teaching cases are designed to discuss how the content of Orff teaching method can enhance students' aesthetic perception,artistic expression,and cultural theory,helping students to form an optimistic and positive character.The effect of using Orff teaching method to develop students' Key Competencies is analyzed by carrying out music teaching practice,observations and interviews.The fifth part concludes the whole thesis and looks forward to the further development of primary music education and the further application and improvement of Orff teaching method in primary music classroom under the vision of Key Competencies.
