In the context of the construction of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics in the new era,"vigorously developing social work" was once again written into the 2021 edition of the government work report. This indicates that my country's social work is at the crossroads of a new round of development, and it also puts forward higher requirements for the quality of social services that social work can provide. In the face of new development opportunities,my country urgently needs to select higher-level senior social work talents to lead the next stage of development of the industry. For this reason,as the most difficult "national examination" in the social work field, the senior social worker examination was launched for the first time in 2018.Its innovative selection method combined with evaluation and a very low pass rate of less than 3% made the entire industry Pay attention to it.Exactly who got admitted to senior social workers and why they got admitted has become an urgent question. To answer this question, this paper uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to find the answer.First, this paper uses an online self-filling questionnaire to conduct a survey on 172 social workers who have participated in the senior social worker examination.Based on the questionnaire results, the group characteristics of senior social workers are summarized, and a binary logistic regression model is established.,to analyze the influencing factors of the senior social worker examination results;second, taking the senior social worker competency model as an entry point, combined with qualitative data,to analyze the ability differences between the social workers who have passed the examination and those who have not passed the examination. The results found: First,in terms of the group characteristics of senior social workers, the social workers who have passed the exam have rich first-line practical experience, have a high degree of professional identification with social work, and most of them have a master's degree in social work education background. In terms of sources, they are mainly senior social workers from private non-enterprise institutions and public institutions, and there are differences in "more east and less west" and "the nature of source units in the north and south",that is,there are more senior social workers in the eastern region than in the western region.,while the senior social workers in southern provinces and cities are mostly from private non-enterprise institutions, and the senior social workers in northern provinces and cities are mostly from institutions within the system;Social workers are more likely to pass the exam, while the advanced social work exam shows a step gap from the intermediate exam, that is,supervisory talents and research talents are more likely to pass the exam;In other aspects, there is a certain ability gap between the social workers who have passed the examination. Therefore, this paper puts forward the following countermeasures and suggestions: first,in the optimization of the selection mechanism of senior social workers, the professional background requirements of candidates should be gradually tightened;second,in order to expand the professional talent team of senior social workers in my country, social work Candidates should also focus on improving their performance in supervision and research.
