Contemporary teenagers grow up with the development of the Internet and social media has become a part of their daily lives.Adolescence,as a special stage in the process of growth and development,is an important transition period to shed dependence and seek self-identity,so their social media usage behaviors are also closely related to their psychological characteristics. This paper researches a group of adolescents aged 15-19,with the methods of participating in-depth interviews, participating observation methods and case analysis. It is concluded that adolescents have group-characterized media use habits, and they are more likely to use social media.Behind these habits, adolescents' needs for self-identity and social identity are revealed. Then, from the perspective of the interactive ritual chain theory, this paper demonstrates how adolescents find self-identity and social identity in the process of interaction by observing their media use behaviors featured with a certain performance on social media.Through virtual social interaction, teenagers can compensate for the loneliness and other emotions in real life and attract others' attention, thus finding a sense of group belonging and obtaining lasting emotional energy such as motivation to actively participate in society. And in the interaction, they create their own group symbols, and some even become a media phenomenon beyond the scope of the group. They also participate in the construction and dissemination of subculture-based media culture as an important force.Interaction on social media is another way to presenting real relationships,in which individuals also play different roles. The cooperation among different roles promotes the completion of interaction.Consumption and production, throughout the entire interaction process, keep it running. However, for a lack of social experience and knowledge background, young people are prone to fall into a mimetic environment in the interaction of social media and have emotional dislocation. They are more likely to lose their subjectivity under the impact of massive information, participate in the noisy media landscape under the emotional logic, and inter-construct with the media ecology.
