Function is an important concept throughout students' mathematics learning.The learning of algebraic expressions,inequalities,equations,geometry,statistics and other modules involves the knowledge and methods of function,which is an important part of cultivating students' core literacy.Function learning in junior middle school is the starting point of the whole function learning,teachers need to guide students to learn this part of the content efficiently,systematically and strategically,initially establish the idea of function,combination of number and form,to lay a good foundation for the following learning.However,in practical teaching,it is very difficult for students to learn function,so it is urgent to find out the problems existing in students' function learning and provide effective solutions.This article starts from the development of function,analyzes the requirements of junior high school function to students,the position of the function in the examination of the past years.Then through literature research,summarize the way of junior high school students in the function learning often make mistakes,as well as the curriculum standard function teaching methods are discussed,and combined with the theory of educational psychology,for the future study of student learning problems and solutions laid a foundation.After that,this paper selected 316 students of different levels and3 front-line teachers to carry out a survey on the status quo and teaching of function learning.During the survey,practical problems of students' learning function were investigated through questionnaires and paper tests,and teachers were investigated through discussion.The contents of the survey include students' learning psychology,learning habits,learning methods,learning effects and teaching methods,etc.The results show that the main reasons for students' functional learning difficulties are as follows: 1.Students are not motivated enough to learn mathematics,fear of difficulties,lack of interest in learning and confidence;2.2.Students are not able to preview before class and summarize after class.They are not able to concentrate in class,think actively and learn passively.3.Lack of research and innovation spirit,lack of self-reflection,it is difficult to establish a complete functional knowledge framework;4.Students' ability to transform between the three forms of function is weak;5.Students do not have a precise grasp of function-related concepts and core languages,and pay more attention to memory than to understanding;6.Students have insufficient knowledge and application of functional images and lack of functional ideas;7.Students have not mastered the basic methods of function research,and have an inaccurate grasp of the relationship between function and other knowledge,and lack of knowledge transfer ability;8.Students have poor reading ability,unable to understand the questions,and lack modeling ability for the application of functions in real life.Through the interviews with teachers,the problems in teaching are as follows: 1.Some teachers do not prepare enough for students' learning function before class,play down the creation of the situation,and emphasize the results over the process;2.Some teachers use less modern information technology,and their learning of functional image transformation is abstract;3.Some teachers failed to guide students to establish knowledge system.Finally,the thesis proposes the following solutions to the problems and difficulties encountered by junior high school students in letter learning: 1.To enhance students' understanding of concepts,we should create a reasonable situation(including combining real life and establishing the connection between old and new knowledge),make good use of counter-examples and variable teaching methods.2.Strengthen the understanding and memory of mathematical language and symbols;3.Strengthen and guide the students' ability to recognize and draw pictures and analyze problems with pictures,so as to achieve the training of combining numbers and figures with thoughts;4.Transforming teaching realizes knowledge transfer and improves students' thinking ability;5.Pay attention to the cultivation of students' reading and analysis ability and improve their mathematical modeling ability;6.Focusing on students' "learning",flexibly adopt the mode of combining various teaching methods to improve classroom efficiency;7.Guide students to preview functional knowledge before class and summarize knowledge and methods after class,so as to establish a complete knowledge framework.
