Homework is an important part of the process of school education.Parents in China are generally keen to participate in students’ homework.However,in the process of parents’ participation in homework,there are some difficulties,such as unclear boundary of responsibility,inappropriate way of guidance,and family education becoming the vassal of school education,which weakens the role of homework.The new curriculum reform proposes that schools should actively seek the cooperation and support of parents,society and other aspects,and no longer stay in a relatively closed state as in the past.Therefore,exploring the present situation of parents participating in primary school homework from the perspective of home-school cooperation can not only enrich the theory of parents participating in homework,but also have certain practical value for guiding parents to participate in the process of homework.Based on the literature,questionnaire and interview,this paper investigates the present situation of parents’ participation in homework in Changsha primary school,and draws the following conclusions:The main ways for parents to participate in homework are to provide support and homework supervision,and the frequency of parents’ participation in homework increases with their education level and decreases with the increase of students’ grade.The main manifestations are: parents attach importance to the provision of good homework environment;parents participate in the imbalance of students’ homework role;the higher the level of parents’ education,the higher the frequency of their participation in homework behavior;Parents’ participation frequency decreases with the increase of students’ grade.On this basis,the author puts forward several suggestions,including: the content and way of parents participating in students’ homework should be based on their own ability to participate;parents should actively communicate with teachers about students’ homework;Pay attention to father’s participation in homework;parents should pay attention to improve their learning consciousness and ability;schools should actively build homework help system.
