Since 1980 s,the complexity of educational and teaching problems has been deepened in the field of educational research.The research in cognitive field has been developing and the research focus has shifted.The research on teachers in the field of teacher education research has shifted from the study of teachers’ behavior to the process of teachers’ thinking and decision-making.Therefore,the research on teachers’ educational belief has become an important field of educational research.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the strategy of rural revitalization,which ultimately depends on people.Rural education is the the nose of an ox of Rural Revitalization.Rural education is the "nerve endings" of Chinese education,and it is also an important position.The key to develop rural education are teachers.The research on the educational belief of rural teachers can provide theoretical basis for relevant practical research.It can promote the professional growth of rural teachers and develop rural undertakings.The object of this study are 11 rural primary school teachers in the east of Henan Province.This study carried out a half year field research and mainly collected data through participatory observation and interview.The most real and complete picture of rural teachers’ educational beliefs can be obtained through field investigation.The purpose of this study is to reveal the actual state of the educational beliefs of primary school teachers in W village and try to analyze the factors influencing their formation through the meaning interpretation of interview materials.This study holds that teachers’ educational beliefs include the following four aspects: teachers’ beliefs about their own roles,teachers’ beliefs about students,teachers’ beliefs about teaching,teachers’ beliefs about learning.I integrates teachers’ beliefs about teaching and learning when writing papers.The first part mainly discusses my access to the research site through "bottom-up" approach and the collection of data;The second part is the core of this study.I interprets the data from interviews and observations,and analyzes the actual state of the educational beliefs of primary school teachers in W village,including the belief in their own role,the students,the teaching and learning;The third part is based on the growth story of primary school teachers in W village,and extracts the main factors that affect the formation of their educational beliefs,including the important others in the learning experience,the practice accumulation in teaching,the shaping of society and culture;Finally,I concludes this study by interviewing the primary school teachers in W village: "If given a chance to choose a new career,would you still be a teacher?" W village primary school teachers have given me a negative answer after thinking.They are still responsible and dedicated to their students,but given a second chance,they will make other choices.Their answers also revealed the dilemma of primary school teachers in W village. |
