In the context of environmental pollution and traffic congestion,green travel has become the choice of more and more people.As a means of transportation for green travel,the public bicycle with low-carbon environmental protection,economic convenience has won the favor of many users.It has become an important way to deal with the "first and last mile".As the main force of the market,contemporary young people have a high awareness of environmental protection.The promotion of green travel should take this group as the key participants.An accurate understanding of their cycling characteristics is not only conducive to grasp the green travel behavior characteristics of contemporary young people,but also helps operators to make scientific decisions.It can play a positive role in promoting green travel.Based on realtime cycling data of docked and dockless public bicycles in Nanjing,this paper mainly uses statistics,visualization technology and complex network methods to study the characteristics of young people from the perspectives of users and stations.Firstly,we choose Generation Z users as the representative of young people,and analyze the proportion of users,the duration of cycling,the usage during different periods and the gender of users in both docked and dockless bike-sharing systems.we classify Generation Z users by the K-means clustering method to study their characteristics.The results show that compared to docked public bicycles,Generation Z users use dockless public bicycles more often.The cycling time shows a long-tailed distribution,with up to 80% of rides within 20 minutes.Usage on weekends is higher than that on weekdays,except for the morning and evening rush hours.Besides,different types of users have different travel purposes.Secondly,from the perspective of stations,we construct complex networks of the cycling of Gen Z both in docked and dockless public bicycle system,and then analyze the spatial distribution of stations and the cycling flow.The results show that the utilization rate of docked bicycles is lower than that of the dockless ones.Gulou and Jianye districts are active areas for docked bicycles,and the stations with higher traffic are near subway stations,residentials and schools.The most active area for dockless ones is the coverage area of Xinjiekou business district.Similar to docked bicycles,subway stations,tourist attractions and universities also have a strong promotional effect.Finally,we put forward some related suggestions and research prospects for the construction of public bicycle systems based on the research results.
