This study examines the schooling,employment,work,and changes of Mr.Wang in the class of 1990 at Taihang Normal School in Shanxi Province,using the life history research method to give Mr.Wang his own "voice" and collecting firsthand data through oral narratives and interviews to elucidate the relationship between possible personal choices,realistic choices,and coincidences.The relationship between possible personal choices,realistic choices,and coincidences.Specifically,the study examines how elementary school teachers from secondary school backgrounds view their educational and professional choices in the context of social change,and examines Wang's choice of educational paths before she entered secondary school,her professional identity when she entered secondary school,and her identity as a teacher after she entered the workforce.the main findings are:(1)Wang's choice of teaching profession was the result of a combination of factors,including his perceptions and judgments.This choice was a rational choice in the context of the situation he was in at the time,but the influence of social changes revealed that this rational choice may have been a limited educational choice.Moreover,among the multiple factors influencing the choice,some of them have more weight and influence to determine the direction of the choice.However,the contradictory relationships among the influencing factors are still retained and influence the next stage of choice and action.(2)The secondary teacher profession channel has a certain closed nature,starting from the application for secondary teachers and ending with the graduation assignment.In the closed channel,the contradictions of the factors affecting Wang's choice of Chinese teacher will be more intensified,and will still survive in the subsequent stage even if temporarily set aside.At the same time,as the conflicts are temporarily shelved and intensified,the professional identity has a "false sense of identity" and a low sense of identity.(3)Due to the influence of social changes,Wang's initial rational choice of career was not ideal.However,based on the experiences and real-life experiences in her career,she developed a personal knowledge and understanding of the teaching profession and a deeper sense of teacher identity.At the same time,negative influences are quietly dissipating,thus changing the direction of the choice.
