The current development of education presents a new situation of combining the five types of education: moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic and labour education.And the development of school sport is not only a requirement of the "all-round development of moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic and labour education" but also an important way to reach the "health first" education concept.On deepening the reform of education in the new era,it is not only necessary to reduce the differences in education between urban and rural areas and between different regions,but also to continuously inject new dynamics into the revitalization of rural education.To this end,raising the standard of physical education in rural junior middle schools is an important task that cannot be ignored.In this regard,it is important to raise the level of physical education in rural junior middle schools,which is an important task that cannot be ignored.In this study,497 students and 91 physical education teachers from 16 rural junior middle schools in district C of L city were surveyed on the current situation of physical education in rural junior middle schools.We found that the following dilemmas exist in physical education in rural junior middle schools: insufficient breadth of objectives,weak teachers,one-sided content,single pathway,inadequate facilities and financial support,monotonous forms of evaluation,and low integration with the other "four educations".After analyzing the reasons for the current difficulties of PE in rural junior middle schools,this study proposes the following three recommendations: Firstly,the relevant education administrative departments should strengthen the coordination and leadership,increase the supervision of rural junior high schools in area C,balance the allocation of PE teachers,and ensure the provision of PE facilities.Secondly,schools should actively carry out school-based training for physical education teachers,make comprehensive planning and use of existing physical education resources,develop traditional physical education programs and promote the construction of campus football culture.Thirdly,physical education teachers should change their mindset,improve their professional knowledge system and promote professional skills enhancement.
