Unit instructional design is a new type of instructional design which can deepen teaching reform,actively explore the core literacy of the subject,and adapts to the future development of education.It aims to change the teaching from a single knowledge point or class time to a large unit,and coordinate the unit situation and tasks to cultivate subject literacy.The UbD philosophy is a teaching philosophy that advocates understanding first,evaluation runs throughout,and strives to improve students’ core literacy.The core is to allow students to obtain a lasting "understanding",which is consistent with unit teaching.Conic section plays a pivotal role in high school mathematics.It occupies a large proportion in the college entrance examination.It is a very good carrier for unit instructional design research,so this research integrates UbD concept and unit instructional design to carry out instructional design is extremely necessary.This research focuses on the following four questions:(1)What is the basic knowledge system of conic section?(2)What is the framework of unit instructional design based on the UbD concept?(3)How is the unit teaching of "conic section" based on the UbD concept designed?(4)Taking the teaching of "Hyperbola and its standard equation" as an example,how to explain that the unit teaching design based on the UbD concept is effective?This research through access to literature,experimental studies,case analysis and individual interviews and investigate the conic unit instructional design based on UbD concept.The main results are briefly stated below.Firstly,through teacher interviews,understand the current teachers’ understanding and application of UbD concepts and unit teaching.Then take the conic unit as the research goal.Indeed,we comb the conic frame diagram through the unit teaching element analysis,and clarifies the important difficulty of this unit content.According to the three stages of UbD idea,we construct the unit teaching design model of conic curve and put forward the conic unit teaching design based on UbD idea.Finally,based on the analysis of teaching process,post-test result,teacher interview and student interview,it is proved that unit teaching design based on UbD concept has some advantages over traditional teaching design.In summary,the unit teaching design model of conic section based on the UbD concept in this study can provide a reference template for the teaching design of high school mathematics unit.
