As an integral part of basic education curriculum system in China,integrated practical activity curriculum is one of the most important ways to realize quality education.Its effective development is of great significance to the development of students.Although in the process of implementation,there are still some problems,such as educators and students are not timely changing their ideas,educational management mode is old,parents’ resources are not fully exploited and utilized.Compared with public schools,the enrollment rate of private schools is the lifeline of their survival and development,private schools tend to focus time and energy on the subject courses required by the college entrance examination;the main source of private schools’ funds is the tuition fees paid by parents and they lack financial subsidies;private schools’ management mechanism is different from the public schools and their staff turnover is relatively high.At present,the academic circles pay little attention to the implementation of integrated practical activity curriculum in private schools and there are few related researches.This paper studies the implementation of integrated practical activity curriculum in J senior high school by means of literature research,case study and investigation in the hope of providing research materials for other private schools of the same type and drawing the attention of academic circles and educational administrative departments to the implementation of integrated practical activity curriculum in private schools.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction including the research background,research significance,research status in China and abroad,research scheme.The second part is the overview of integrated practical activity curriculum,which explores the concept and characteristics of integrated practical activity curriculum and explains the particularity of integrated practical activity curriculum assessment in senior high schools.The third part introduces some cases of J senior high school’s integrated practical activity curriculum and analyzes them.The fourth part is the investigation about the implementation status of J senior high school’s integrated practical activity curriculum including the interview materials and questionnaire data of students,parents and teachers.The fifth part summarizes the feasibility of J senior high school’s integrated practical activity curriculum,which includes rich curriculum content and diversified forms,regular teacher training,following basic evaluation norms,adopting demonstrative evaluation and holding ’Open House’.It also points out and analyzes the problems existing in the integrated practical activity curriculum: some students’ cognitive level of integrated practical activity curriculum is relatively low or deviate,teachers’ enthusiasm of participating in integrated practical activity curriculum is not high,curriculum design and implementation fail to pay fully attention to the actual needs of the students,the school curriculum management lack of normative,rich resources and the school fails to make full use of family education resources.In view of the above problems,the author puts forward the corresponding suggestions in the sixth part:first,strengthen students’ cognitive education of integrated practical activity curriculum;second,build a contingent of full-time and part-time teachers for integrated practical activity curriculum;third,curriculum design and implementation should be student-centered;fourth,building characteristic management mechanism and enrich curriculum resources;fifth,broaden the channels for parents to participate in the curriculum and ensure the quality of communication. |
