Teachers' professional development is of great significance to the improvement of teachers' quality and teaching quality.In rural areas where teachers' quality is relatively low,teachers' professional development has more important theoretical and practical significance.The role of rural education in China's education can not be ignored.The professional development level of rural teachers is closely related to the improvement of the quality of rural education.As a new factor in the primary school teacher team,novice primary school teachers' professional development level directly affects the sustainable development of the whole teacher team.On the basis of literature review,taking S county of Shandong Province as an example,this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 103 rural primary school novice teachers and in-depth interviews with 18 novice teachers.From the survey and the interviews,this paper founds that the current situation of rural primary school novice teachers' professional development in S County of Shandong Province is worrying,which is why their professional development level deserves our attention.Therefore,it is particularly important to solve the problems existing in the professional development of rural primary school novice teachers in S County of Shandong Province and explore the countermeasures to optimize the professional development of these teachers.In the design of questionnaire and interview outline,this research mainly focuses on four aspects,that is,teachers' professional concept,professional knowledge,professional ability and professional affection.Through the survey,it is found that the novice teachers in rural primary schools have satisfactory aspects in professional concept,professional knowledge,professional ability and professional affection,but there are also some aspects that is needed to be improved.Through the data analysis,we found that the problems of novice teachers' professional development in rural primary schools can be attributed to the following aspects: first,novice teachers' awareness of professional development is not strong and their enthusiasm is not enough;second,novice teachers' in-service training and further education management system is not in place;third,the lack of relevant content construction in school organizational culture;fourth,the conflict and contradiction of novice teachers' role adaptation;fifthly,educational theory does not match educational practice.Therefore,in order to solve the existing problems in the professional development of novice teachers in rural primary schools,novice teachers should have a good professional attitude as well as a correct career ideal;relevant departments and leaders should strictly implement the management system of novice teachers' in-service training and further education;school leaders should promote the construction of teachers' professional development related content in school organizational culture;novice teachers should do their best to adapt to their new status and role,and actively participate in teaching and research activities.Only in this way,can we help rural primary school novice teachers out of the dilemma of professional development and realize a qualitative leap of their professional development.
