To implement Ministry of Education policy "Basic Education Curriculum Reform Outline(for trial implementation)" Chongqing Municipal Education Commission put forward that Chongqing general high school developed creative curriculum reflecting the local and school characteristic,aimed at supporting rich resources on the implementation of new curriculum.The previous studies lacked the development of Chongqing school-based curriculum.Hot pot is the name card of Chongqing,famous at home and abroad.Therefore this study developed the school-based curriculum based on Chongqing hot pot.Before the development,a questionnaire was sent to Grade 2 students in Chongqing S School.Meanwhile,interviews and analysis were conducted among curriculum experts,teachers and parents of those students.Through preparations for curriculum development,writer surveyed students’ demand for the school-based course centered on chemistry knowledge about Chongqing hot pot,and focused content and implementation on school-based curriculum.According to the practice model proposed by Professor Wu Gangping,the author developed high school school-based curriculum "Chongqing Hot Pot Chemistry" reflecting Chongqing local characteristics through literature method,investigation method,conversation method and action research method.It is expected to contribute to the development and practical research of localized school-based curriculum.The first part of this research put forward the topic on new curriculum standard according to current development of Chongqing hot pot.The purpose and significance,ideas and methods of this research were elaborated in detail.At the same time,the development principle,implementation procedure,evaluation mode and the practice status of localization school-based curriculum were summarized.The second part defined the core concepts and introduced the theoretical basis of school-based curriculum development in detail.The third part,under the guidance of Professor Wu Gangping’s school-based curriculum development and implementation procedure,carried on the development of Chongqing S school’s school-based curriculum "Chongqing Hot Pot Chemistry".The fourth part carried on the teaching practical case analysis and the course evaluation.The school-based course "Chongqing Hot Pot Chemistry" was carried out in the second grade of S school for one semester,with a total of 12 course hours.This study had 3 class hours for practical case analysis: selecting Chongqing hot pot raw material-hot pepper,hot pot side dish-beef tripe,eating hot pot healthily.In the course practice,multi-evaluation method is used to evaluate the course of students’ learning process from the ways of students’ self-evaluation,group evaluation and teacher evaluation.After the course practice,the students who participated in the school-based course were given questionnaires,and the teachers were interviewed and analyzed.The fifth part was conclusion.The practical results showed that the implementation of the school-based course "Chongqing Hotpot Chemistry" had,to a certain extent,helped students understand the knowledge related to hotpot chemistry,stimulated their interest in learning chemistry,and improved their laboratory operation ability and interpersonal skills in chemistry.Due to the author’s own inexperience,the course content was not well integrated with the chemistry knowledge of the college entrance examination.The teachers’ teaching reflection ability was not enough in the course practice,and the selection of the course evaluation method didn’t thoroughly reflect the characteristics of this subject.In order to improve the school-based curriculum,it is necessary to strengthen the integration of chemistry knowledge of hotpot and chemistry knowledge of college entrance examination,expand the scope of curriculum practice,and improve the evaluation mechanism of the curriculum.
