The novel teaching is Chinese teaching of junior middle school important constituent.It is also an important way to implement the curriculum standard,raise the student language accomplishment and enhance the students' esthetic appreciation ability.Therefore,teachers should attach importance to the cultivation of students' individual reading ability and pay attention to their reading expectation in the practical teaching.Meanwhile,teachers should guide students properly to have a deep dialogue and communication with the novel.The core idea of the blank theory holds that writers set up a large number of blank spots in their literary works,which call for readers to fill them individually.In the process of readers making literary works "concrete",the readers' individual interpretation comes out continuously and their reading expectation can be improved gradually,so that the central position of readers in reading becomes more obvious.The blank theory can provide theoretical support for the text interpretation of junior middle school novels and theoretical guidance for Chinese teachers in junior middle school.In this paper,the single novel in the junior middle school Chinese textbook is taken as the object of study.The introduction explains the origin of the study in the light of the junior middle school Chinese curriculum standards,the characteristics of the novel and the actual situation of the novel teaching.It also expounds the significance of the research from the theoretical and practical aspects.The introduction collects and sorts out the research results in the relevant fields through reading the relevant literature at home and abroad,which lay a solid foundation for the teaching strategy by using the methods of case analysis and questionnaire investigation and so on.In addition to the introduction,this study is divided into three parts.The first part is the related concepts and significance including the concept of "blank" in the novel text,the theory of blank and the significance of the application of blank theory in the teaching of junior middle school and primary school,that is to say,the application of the blank theory in practical teaching can arouse students' subjective consciousness,promote students to read the text deeply and make the students' reading ability be developed from the comprehension reading to the Critical reading gradually.The second part is the present situation investigation.It obtained the first-hand material from students and teachers through the questionnaire investigation,as well as analyzed existence questions to the investigation result,so that there are some problems be found in the novel teaching of junior middle school,such as "ignoring the blank of language meaning,ignoring the blank of text structure and ignoring the uncertainty of the blank".The third part is putting forward the corresponding teaching strategies according to the problems found in the questionnaire,namely from three aspects : the language meaning blank,the novel narrative blank and the three elements of the blank to interpret the novel.In the strategy,the text of the textbook and the classroom case are used to illustrate the concrete implementation strategy,and the blank of the three elements of the novel is interpreted from the perspective of the whole book.
