The teaching of novel style is an important part of high school Chinese teaching.The traditional teaching content of novels mostly focuses on the three elements of "characters,plot and environment".In teaching,all novels are often appreciated and analyzed according to the same teaching plan of "life of the writer-introduction to the background of the work-outline of the content of the novel-character image-analysis of the environment-conclusion of the theme".There is less distinct narrative art and less thinking involved in the novel style search for new teaching ideas.Although the theory of narratology has appeared in senior high school novel teaching,most of the teachers are still satisfied with the traditional novel teaching mode and the traditional novel teaching theory because they haven't updated the theory of reading novel in time.High school Chinese teaching materials and examinations pay little attention to the narrative art of novels.Under the exam oriented education,teachers and students tend to be utilitarian when they study novels,so the narrative art of novels is not valued.However,the narrative art of novels is an important content that can not be ignored in the teaching of novels.The narrative art of novels is the distinctive form feature of novels and the important part of the artistic charm of novels.The theory of narratology can provide new ideas of interpretation and classroom teaching for the three elements of the novel and the profound meaning of the text.In addition,the 2017 new curriculum standard "learning task group 5" emphasizes that we should appreciate the works from various perspectives such as language,conception,image and implication,obtain aesthetic experience,understand the aesthetic value of the works,and discover the author's unique artistic creation according to the different ways of expression of the novels.The theory of narratology itself is the theory of narrative art.The mastery and application of the narrative art of novels is just conducive to the implementation of the new curriculum standard in senior high school novel teaching.Based on the theory of narratology,this paper selects four classical and practical elements of narratology,which are narrator,narrative perspective,narrative time and narrative structure,and tries to read several novel texts in senior high school textbooks,so as to feel the artistic charm of novel narrative,taste the three elements of novel from a new perspective,explore the profound meaning of novel and explore the small New teaching ideas.Each narrative element has its own connotation,classification and narrative effect.When using the narrative elements to analyze the text,we should not only distinguish which narrative elements are involved in the novel text,but also pay attention to the universal and special functions of the narrative elements in the specific novel text.In order to make better use of the theory of narratology,this paper also lists the related problems that should be paid attention to when using the theory of narratology,and expounds the related application of the theory of narratology in the cultivation of students' appreciation ability and writing teaching.
