In the process of urbanization in contemporary China,a large number of young and middle-aged rural laborers have moved to cities, leading to the emergence of a large number of "left-behind children." Among them,left-behind children under single parent supervision account for a large proportion.Left-behind children under single parent supervision means that one of the parents leaves the house to work and the other is left behind to guard the child. The burden of the family and the pressure of life make the left-behind father(mother)exhausted and neglect the growth of the child to some extent.Based on the theory of family system theory and dominant perspective theory, this paper takes the first grade students of C Middle School of J County,Fujian Province as the research object, and applies the literature method, interview method and questionnaire to investigating rural left-behind children and their guardians. The results of the survey show that the problems between the parents and the left-behind children under single-parent supervision mainly include narrow communication content, short communication time, low interaction frequency, and lack of trust between parents and children.Parents’ backward education concepts, lack of skills and methods to establish good communication with children,inter-generational differences between parents and children, and the special characteristics of adolescent children are the main reasons for parent-child problems. The harmonious and stable parent-child relationship is very important for the healthy growth of children and the progress and development of society. In this study, two parent workshops and five group activities were conducted to help clients to master effective parent-child communication skills and methods, and to change unreasonable parent-child education methods, thereby strengthening parent-child connections.Practice has proved that after two parent workshops and five group activities, the parent-child relationship of the six groups of families has alleviated and improved to some extent.
