Model thought is especially important for primary school mathematics.Building models in primary school will help our students to further develop their own mathematical thought and develop their ability to solve practical problems.As a country with significant historical origins,China can learn from Singapore in many fields.Singapore has made great achievements in many international competitions.Exploring the characteristics of mathematics in Singapore can help us find out the outstanding features of Mathematics Education in Singapore.In this paper,through the study of the model presented in the textbooks of the two countries,we compare the differences of the two countries' models,and promote our primary school mathematics teaching.This study used the methods of literature,content analysis and comparative research,the theoretical research framework of comparative analysis is constructed from the following aspects:the curriculum standards of the two countries,the distribution of the content of the model,the setting up of the content of the model,the model of the two editions of the textbook in terms of numbers and algebra,figures and geometry,statistics and probability,and the special model of the Singapore edition of the textbook,this paper compares the key contents of the two editions of the textbook model.From the distribution of the model contents of the two editions,it is found that the proportion of the model contents of the Singapore edition is higher than that of the Chinese edition in the total quantity,the distribution of the two editions is basically synchronous in the distribution grades,and the distribution of the two editions is balanced in the six grades of the primary school.From the content setting of the model of the two editions of the textbook,it is found that the knowledge points of the content setting of the model of the textbook of our country are more comprehensive.From the two editions of the three major areas of teaching material on the specific presentation,it is found that the textbook of Beijing Normal University focuses on developing students' model thought,while the textbook of Star Publishing focuses on developing students' awareness of problem solving by using models as problem solving tools.By analyzing the special model of Singapore edition,it is found that students can use the “Model Method ” not only to use complicated mathematical knowledge and skills,but also to do mathematical thinking and improve their problem-solving ability.According to the results and conclusions of the comparison,it is suggested that our first-line mathematics teachers should study the textbook carefully,analyze whether the content of the textbook is suitable for model teaching or not;Combining theory with practice,students should study the application of mathematics systematically,and teachers should improve their model consciousness and take the initiative to participate in various training activities The model graph method can be used as a problem-solving strategy to help students to develop their mathematical thinking.
