Since the 21st century,international talents have been regarded as the important competitiveness of each country,and the International Baccalaureate Organization(IBO)has emerged under this background.In the context of standards-based textbook reform all over the world,the research on the alignment between curriculum standards and textbooks is an important aspect of textbook evaluation.After summarizing the related researches,I choose the mathematics subject and take probability and statistics topics as an example to study the alignment between two sets of mathematics textbooks of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program(DP)and the curriculum standards.In this study,the highly recognized the SEC Model and Degree of Difficulty of Course Model were modified and rebuilt to study the alignment between probability and statistics content of two sets of IBDP high-level mathematics textbooks that are most widely used in three famous international schools in Shanghai,China and the latest edition of Mathematics:analysis and approaches guide(First assessment 2021)which is regarded as the IBDP mathematics curriculum standard.The main aspects of alignment study include: content theme,cognitive objective,course breadth,course time,course depth and course difficulty.Then,the semi-structured interview method was adopted to interview teachers from three famous international schools in Shanghai to analyze the factors affecting the alignment of IBDP mathematics textbooks and IBDP mathematics curriculum standard.This study finds some conclusions on alignment:1.On the whole,the alignment between the two sets of mathematics textbooks and Mathematics: analysis and approaches guide(First assessment 2021)is not significantly high.2.From the perspective of content theme and cognitive objective,there are inconsisitences among the two sets of mathematics textbooks and Mathematics: analysis and approaches guide(First assessment 2021).3.From the perspective of course difficulty,the course breadth、course time、course depth and course difficulty of the two sets of mathematics textbooks in each content topic of two sets of mathematics textbooks are not consistant with Mathematics: analysis and approaches guide(First assessment 2021).Finally,based on the results of semi-structured interviews with teachers,I put forward some solutions to keep higher alignment of IBDP mathematics textbooks with Mathematics:analysis and approaches guide(First assessment 2021)and the good features of IBDP mathematics textbooks,in order to promote the improvement of audit,quality of IBDP mathematics textbooks and teaching in Chinese international school.
