In 2001, China promulgated the "basic education curriculum reform program (Trial)", which marked the basic education of our country into a new era -- the new curriculum reform era characteristics of teaching material and teaching quality is another important part. So this paper selected in Britain with the contents of representative of the high school mathematics textbooks of "probability and statistics" as the object of study, on the part of the contents of the degree of difficulty for comparative study. This paper studied hard in the Chinese teach A version of high school mathematics textbooks, basic SMP version of high school mathematics textbooks in the UK, sorting out the Chinese teach A version, SMP version of the British high school mathematics "probability and statistics" knowledge; combined with the Chinese "experimental mathematics curriculum standards 2003 edition", "British English the national mathematics curriculum standard" and the reference book should determine the appropriate knowledge of the depth and breadth of the combination of teaching examples to determine the appropriate exercises; nature, exercise background and contains number of knowledge points. The final basis by Professor Chi Zhengzhou chaired the National Social Science Fund "1025" planning key project "primary and secondary school science textbooks for international comparative study (High School Mathematics)" the high school mathematics teaching difficulty of the quantitative model by the mathematical model, the two high school mathematics textbooks were determined by quantitative analysis, Chinese Education Press A SMP, the British version of "probability and statistics" content, depth and breadth of content and teaching exercises comprehensive difficulty difficulty, and have the following conclusions:1. The content of breadth of view, Chinese A version of high school mathematics teaching "probability and statistics" contain 68 points; the British SMP version of high school mathematics "probability and statistics" contain 35 points. In the probabilistic and statistical learning, China textbooks PEP extensive contents, pay more attention to comprehensive knowledge, English textbooks, pay attention to practical knowledge;2. In the depth of content, Chinese A version of high school mathematics teaching "probability and statistics" knowledge group depth is 149 SMP; British version of high school mathematics "probability and statistics" knowledge group depth is 75. The two versions were inverted "U" type, in knowledge more comprehension. Overall, the total depth of knowledge teaching is far greater than the A version of the SMP version of the materials;3. To exercise comprehensive difficulty, the Chinese version of A to teach high school mathematics "probability and statistics" comprehensive difficulty is 392; SMP materials "British probability and statistics exercises for 320 comprehensive. In general, relatively speaking, in the textbook exercises on the difficulty of Chinese textbooks is more and more difficult, "SMP" version of the textbook is less easy ";4. In total in terms of the total teaching difficulty, difficulty Chinese teach A version of high school mathematics "probability and statistics" for 3.16; the total difficulty of British SMP version of high school mathematics "probability and statistics" is 2.64. By contrast, the A version of Chinese teaching high school mathematics textbook "probability and statistics" content is wide and deep, exercise more and more difficult; the British SMP version of high school mathematics teaching content of "statistics and probability" narrow and shallow, less easy to exercise.
