An Analysis Of Digital Labor From The Perspective Of Marx's Labor Theory

The development of Internet information technology has promoted the formation of a new pattern of digital and diversified forms of labor.With immaterial labor and digital labor occupying an increasingly important position in people's work and life,continuous attention and discussion of emerging labor has appeared.This thesis combs the origin and connotation of Marx's labor theory on the basic of existing research results,and combines Italian Autonomous Marxism School's immaterial labor theory and Fox's digital labor theory to summarize the research status of digital labor,analyze whether it is material,productive,and exploitative.Then investigate the theoretical value and practical significance of digital labor from the perspective of China's development of digital economy.This article mainly studies the digital labor theory from four aspects.The first is the traceability and basic connotation of Marx's labor theory,which sorts out the labor thoughts of Western political philosophers,classical political economists,and Hegel,to sum up the main content of Marx's labor theory and discriminate the concepts of productive labor,nonproductive labor,and immaterial productive labor.The second is the current research status of digital labor,which clarifies the concept and form of digital labor.Digital labor can be denied as productive or nonproductive activities carried out by digital laborers using data and information as the main means of production,concluding paid digital labor of workers in traditional enterprises,online part-time workers and Internet professional technicians,and unpaid digital labor of production and marketing without employment relationship.It also analyzes the controversy about the materiality and immateriality of digital labor,as well as the productive and nonproductive nature.The third is the re-analysis of the nature and attributes of digital labor.In response to the controversy about digital labor,it is proposed that digital labor is a special form of immaterial labor,but it has both materiality and immateriality,not deviating from the scope of Marx's labor theory.The productivity and non-productivity of digital labor,especially emerging digital labor,such as short video industries,live broadcast industries,and e-sports industries,are also distinguished.And Marx's labor theory helps to reveal the alienated and exploitative nature of digital labor.The last one is the theoretical value and practical significance of digital labor analysis.Digital labor theory is of great influence to enrich the development and improvement of Marx's labor value theory in the digital economy era,emerging labor theory of value,and Marx's thoughts on human emancipation.It also has a very important practical impact on improving the system of distribution according to work in the socialist market economy,maintaining the healthy development of industries in which emerging forms of labor are located,and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers in emerging forms of labor.
