The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that we must fully implement the Party's education policy,carry out the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue,develop quality-oriented education,promote fairness in education,and train socialist builders and successors who are well developed morally,intellectually,physically,aesthetically,and with hard work.In education development under the background of new era,the Ministry of Education issued the revised ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standard(2017)years,the revision of the new mathematics teaching material of curriculum structure,content,they compared with the old teaching material and found that the content of the course structure and learning for quadratic function in the new high school mathematics teaching material have been adjusted than ever before,requiring students to more skillfully master the basic knowledge and application of quadratic function.According to the analysis of the data of the past high school entrance examination,the quadratic function accounts for a large proportion of the score in the past high school entrance examination,but the score of students' answer questions is always at a low average level.Based on the above situation,this paper will summarize the specific problems existing in the learning of quadratic function of Grade 9 students through practical investigation and other methods,and make an deeper analysis of the problems,so as to find out the reasons and give more appropriate teaching suggestions.In this paper,by referring to a large number of relevant literature and interviewing middle and high school mathematics teachers respectively,we have a preliminary understanding of the knowledge of quadratic function on the students and determine the problems to be studied.Then through the in-depth study of the new edition of mathematics curriculum standard textbooks,together with the discussion and consideration of junior high school mathematics teachers,the paper formulated the quadratic function test questions for the studied problems,tested 254 junior high school students in Linghai City,recovered 244 valid test papers,and carried out statistics and detailed analysis on the relevant data of the test papers.Through the statistical analysis of the overall situation of the answers,it is concluded that the ninth grade students have four problems in learning quadratic function knowledge points.First,the the students have language information barrier when they express quadratic function concept;Second,the flexible application ability of function expression is insufficient;Third,the properties of quadratic function and image understanding is not thorough,and the application is not flexible;Fourthly,the students have difficulty in understanding application of quadratic function.In view of the problems summarized,the author analyzed the two aspects of teaching and learning,so as to draw conclusions and give teaching suggestions.From the perspective of "teaching",the main reasons are as follows: first,teachers' evaluation of students' existing cognitive ability is not accurate;Second,teachers lack innovation in teaching methods;Thirdly,some teachers have a bad attitude towards their work.Fourthly,most teachers focus on exam-oriented education and do not cultivate students' ability well.From the perspective of "learning",the main reasons are as follows: first,the negative transfer of the knowledge points of a function to the learning of a quadratic function;Second,their independent learning ability is relatively weak.They focus on reciting conclusions and applying formulas.Third,students lack self-confidence.After the analysis and summary of each problem,respectively,the teaching and learning suggestions are given.Suggestions for teachers are as follows: First,evaluate students' cognitive level correctly and carry out concept teaching step by step;Second,apply modern multimedia teaching technology from the simple to the deep grasp of the combination of digital and form skills,thus let the image "tell" the nature of the function;Thirdly,guide students to build reasonable models and improve students' ability to solve practical problems.Fourthly,teachers pay attention to improving their professional ability and accomplishment.Suggestions for students: First,improve their confidence and interest in learning quadratic functions;Second,develop good study habits.
