By doing a preliminary research to understand the long-distance freight driver families' current status of parent-child relationship,a case work is carried out to fundamentally help families to improve their relationship,Especially the problem of father-son communication problems. In the intervention, the structured family treatment model is used and eleven family interviews were held, combined with the general case work steps,to start the practice by joining the family and establishing professional relationships, evaluating the family structure, formulating the intervention plan, changing the family structure, and leaving the family. In the process of exploring related changes, the social worker breaked the rigid boundary of parent-child system, corrected the excessive entanglement between grandma and Z,established a effective support and interaction system, and input scientific and reasonable educational values.Through these, the contradiction between father and son is solved, the new family structure is rebuilded and the family relationship is also reshaped. Finally, the changes in family functions, family members themselves and family system are evaluated, and all show that the intervention of social worker inject new vitality into the family and effectively solve the family problems. The study draws the following main conclusions: First, the vast majority of long-distance freight driver families have different levels of bad parent-child relationships, which are manifested in poor communication between parents and children and poor communication effects;less interaction between parents and children, more conflicts, and a lack of trust between parents and son.But the structured family therapy has practical effects in improving the bad parent-child relationship of long-distance freight driver families. It can integrate Chinese cultural values and play a huge role in solving Chinese family problems, not only in its application, but also the depth.Second, this model has its applicable situation in solving the family problems of long-distance freight drivers: Family members themselves cannot solve the long-standing family problems alone.Family structural factors are the root cause of persistent family problems. The client and his family members need to solve the problem. The client and family members must have time to receive treatment.Third, social workers need to improve the treatment plan based on the family characteristics of the long-distance freight driver group when intervening, such as attaching importance to the reconciliation role of the mother, paying attention to the relationship between the grandfather and the grandson, and meeting the needs of both the father and the son. Finally, social workers may encounter various challenges in the process of practice. For example, they may be rejected by certain family members when they join the family, and the conversation process is uncertain when they intervene. Therefore, some suggestions are put forward: master the existing theory and working skills of structural family therapy;take part in relevant professional practice training, and continuously improve the practical work ability and level. Finally,it discusses the localization of structural family therapy in China, and proposes difficulties and treatment methods. The fundamental and comprehensive solution to the parent-child relationship of long-distance freight drivers requires the cooperation of individuals, families, schools, communities and even all parties in the society. Finally, the research prospects are proposed accordingly.
