In recent years,the role of information technology in geography education and teaching has become more and more prominent,which puts forward new requirements on the application ability of information technology of geography teachers.At present,the project to improve the information technology application ability of primary and secondary school teachers is still in progress.Although some achievements have been made,the real situation of the information technology application ability of geography teachers is limited,especially the current situation between urban and rural teachers is less accurate and in-depth understanding.Based on this,this study focuses on geography teachers in urban and rural middle schools and investigates the current situation of information technology application ability.The following conclusions are drawn through the analysis:(1)On the whole,the average score of information technology application ability of urban teachers is higher than that of rural teachers,and there is a significant difference;By comparing the five ability dimensions,the gap between urban and rural teachers is in the order of learning and development,assessment and diagnosis> organizationand management of > technical literacy > plan and preparation.(2)In terms of specific behavior,the differences between urban and rural teachers are the most obvious.Technical literacy the ability to produce and manage tools and methods for geographic digital education resources;making geography multimedia courseware in planning and preparation;organization and management is to encourage students to participate in and guide students to improve technical literacy;assessment and diagnosis using technical tools to create electronic records of students;in the process of learning and development,the ability to participate in the school-based research and study supported by information technology and realize the combination of learning and application(3)The older the geography teacher is,the more significant the urban-rural difference in the application ability of information technology is.There is no significant difference in the application ability of information technology among geography teachers with differenteducational background,but there are differences between urban and rural teachers with the same educational background.There is no difference in the overall ability of geography teachers in the application of information technology between urban and rural areas in senior high school,but there is a difference in the specific dimension of technical literacy,learning and development.There are significant differences in all aspects among urban and rural teachers in junior high school.The attribution of differences in information technology application ability of geography teachers in urban and rural middle schools can be divided into three aspects: teacher factor,school factor and social factor.In terms of teachers,it is mainly divided into the differences in the structure of urban and rural teachers,the degree of their practical application of information technology,and the information teaching and research carried out by teachers.Schools are mainly attributed to: hardware facilities construction,teacher growth opportunities,school management system,comprehensive quality of students;The social aspects are mainly attributed to: economic conditions,social culture and policy implementation.According to the research conclusion,this paper puts forward specific Suggestions for balancing the information technology application ability of urban and rural middle school geography teachers and improving their information technology application ability.It provides reference for education departments to coordinate urban and rural education and promote educational equity.
