In view of the increased obesity and myopia rates in children and adolescents due to the sedentary and less moving behaviors among them, the Ministry of Education announced one policy named"One Increase,One Decrease,One Guarantee",which aims to increase the physical activities time for primary and secondary students, reduce studying pressure on them, and ensure the implementation of the health plan for them.Meanwhile,High-intensity Interval Training(HIIT)is a kind of time-saving and efficient training methods which can make up the shortcomings of exercise time for adolescents and improve the situation that school physical education curriculum for teenagers has been compressed, thereby effectively promoting their health-related fitness level. In the existing studies, the research of high-intensity interval training in adults is relatively mature, but when it comes to adolescents, the investigation on high-intensity interval training about them needs to be strengthened, especially the integration of high-intensity interval training into school physical education which may be an important practice that still has space for developing. Therefore, further research is needed to determine the optimal high-intensity interval training program that is included in school physical education, and to explore the intervention effect of the physical teacher's assistance on the exercise program.Purpose:To explore the influence of 12-week high-intensity interval training on the physical fitness of adolescents in school physical education.MethodsThis paper focuses on the experimental method.Randomly selected 2 class in the second grade of Chongqing Hongen Experimental School,1 class(35 students,16 boys,19 girls)as the experimental group(HIIT group),and 1 class(35 students,17 boys,18 girls)as the control group(CON group). The experimental group received high-intensity interval training(20×20 meters, exercise for 30 seconds, interval for 30 seconds,3 times a week)for 12 weeks, and the control group received traditional physical education according to the syllabus formulated for 12 weeks. Both the experimental group and the control group performed the same warm-up and relaxing activities, and the participants in two groups maintained their original eating habits, and they were strictly controlled not to engage in other physical activities outside of this class. At the same time, after the intervention, the participants in the experimental group and the control group were tested for relevant indicators, and the collected data were statistically analyzed.results(1)After the 12-week intervention, the cardiorespiratory fitness of the students in the experimental group(HIIT group)and the control group(CON group)both increased compared with that before the intervention, and its have extremely significant statistical differences within the groups(P<0.001),and there was a statistical difference in students'cardiorespiratory fitness between the HIIT group and the CON group after the intervention(P=0.025<0.05).(2)After the 12-week intervention, the muscle strength of the students in the HIIT group and the CON group both increased compared with that before the intervention, and its have extremely significant statistical differences within the groups(P<0.001),and there was a statistical difference in students' muscle strength between the HIIT group and the CON group after the intervention(P=0.047<0.05).However,after the 12-week intervention, the muscle endurance of the students in the HIIT group and the CON group did not increase significantly compared with that before the intervention, and there was no statistical difference within the group(P=0.325>0.05;P=0.281>0.05),and there was no difference in students' muscle endurance between the HIIT group and the CON group after the intervention(P=0.717>0.05).(3)After the 12-week intervention, the flexibility fitness of the students in the HIIT group and the CON group did not increase significantly compared with that before the intervention, and there was no statistical difference within the group(P=0.766>0.05;P=0.474>0.05),and there was no difference in students' flexibility finess between the HIIT group and the CON group after the intervention(P=0.553>0.05).(4)After the 12-week intervention, the percentage of body fat of students in the HIIT group and the CON group did not decrease significantly compared with that before the intervention, and there was no statistical difference within the group(P=0.068>0.05;P=0.094>0.05),and there was no difference in students' percentage of body fat between the HIIT group at the CON group after the intervention(P=0.475>0.05).conclusionsThe 12-week high-intensity interval training can improve the cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle strength of normal-weight teenagers, and the effect is better than traditional physical education, but it has no obvious effect on the muscle endurance, flexibility, fitness and body composition of normal-weight teenagers.
