As the society's demand for high-level applied talents continues to increase,the admission of professional master degree in China has gradually expanded.In the age of big data,the society has higher requirements of the professional knowledge and skills and the cross-cultivation background in various fields for the applied statistics master talents.The current results of talent cultivation shows,most universities' cultivation methods emphasize pay more attention to theory rather than practice.In addition,there is insufficient cross-training talents with related disciplines,which leads to the decoupling of the quality of talents from social employment needs,and cannot meet the employment needs of various industries.China will strengthen its educational field before 2035.In the future,the analysis and application of big data in educational field will be popularized.Although,the talent cultivation courses and systems for educational statistics in Chinese universities are still relatively blank.Therefore,this article analyzes the employment needs of statistical talents in the education industry,and brings up some suggestions to complete the talent cultivation system for masters in applied statistics.This paper conducts text mining on of the existing applied statistics master's talent cultivation program published by Chinese universities and the recruitment text from website to analyze the distribution of courses,and the distribution of characteristic universities.Also it uses K-Means clustering and spectral clustering algorithm to cluster the vocabulary for courses,corresponding positions and talent needs.In the end,it provides suggestions of completing the education-oriented master's cultivation system for applied statistics in terms of curriculum setting,oriented cultivation,applied skills,employment fields,and interdisciplinary aspects.Based on the analysis above,this article proposes some suggestions to improve the cultivation system.Firstly,college should emphasize cross-training with related disciplines to meet the needs of different industries.Secondly,colleges should pay attention to the application of statistical skills through course settings,case practices,and related internships.Thirdly,it is necessary to set up certain education related courses and the education industry-related application software skills training.
