In recent years,the development of high school art education in China is in the transition from "quantity" to "quality",from "knowledge-based" to "literacy based".High school art curriculum standard puts forward five core qualities,which means that art discipline should not only include the study of theoretical knowledge and techniques,but also,more importantly,improve the comprehensive quality of students through art learning.As most high school students are under great pressure,they attach more importance to culture courses than to fine arts courses.As one of the painting module contents in the selective compulsory courses of Fine Arts in high school,engraving is applied in the course of seal cutting and engraving art workshop in Wuming middle school,which takes woodcut and engraving as the form of expression to supplement the fine arts teaching outside the regular fine arts classroom,At the same time,as a carrier of art class practice,printmaking workshop enriches art teaching forms,increases students' interest in art courses,widely collects local characteristic elements of Guangxi,enriches students' diversified aesthetic experience,and stimulates students to love local culture more.At the same time,in the process of practice,improve students' aesthetic judgment and independent inquiry ability,comprehensively use creative thinking,exercise students' hands-on ability and mutual cooperation ability,and realize the improvement of students' comprehensive quality.This paper uses the methods of field investigation,education observation,case study and literature review to explore the necessity of applying woodcut in high school art teaching by taking the woodcut course of Wuming middle school seal engraving art workshop as an example.This paper explores from the following five parts: firstly,it explains the related concepts of "print","woodcut print" and "Art Workshop";The first chapter analyzes the current situation of fine arts teaching in Wuming middle school;In the second chapter,the teaching practice of woodcut and engraving course in Wuming middle school is studied,including the implementation conditions,objectives,contents and the implementation significance of woodcut and engraving course in high school;The third chapter shows and analyzes the teaching cases of woodcut course in Wuming middle school.Combined with the unit subject of art curriculum standard setting in ordinary high school,"cultural elements and folk scenes of Zhuang ethnic group in March 3-woodcut design and creation",it is divided into "understanding woodcut","colorful Zhuang ethnic group in March 3,enjoying woodcut works of Zhuang ethnic group theme" The teaching practice of "Zhuang elements theme print creation" and "Print Exhibition" is studied;The fourth chapter summarizes the achievements and shortcomings in the process of curriculum implementation;At the end of the chapter,the author looks forward to the further development of woodcut in high school art teaching from three aspects: teachers,students and curriculum.
