On March 18,2019,the school’s ideological and political theory course teachers’ symposium was successfully held in Beijing.At the meeting,General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that ideological and political courses should pay attention to enlightening education so that students can get results naturally in enlightenment.The use of inquiry-based teaching method reflects this core idea.The use of this teaching method helps teachers clarify the content of teaching materials,enhance the ability of inquiry-based teaching,and promote the professional growth of teachers;it is helpful to stimulate students’ curiosity and increase classroom participation.It can give full play to the initiative of students and improve the effect of classroom teaching,which is conducive to improving students’inquiry ability and cultivating students’ higher-order thinking ability.Therefore,the inquiry teaching method is an inevitable choice to improve the teaching effect of the "Ethics and Rule of Law" course in junior high schools.However,there are some problems in the actual operation process,which can not really exert the effect of the inquiry teaching method,so the research on its application must be strengthened.This article uses literature research methods,questionnaire survey methods,interdisciplinary research methods and other research methods,starting from the concept of the inquiry teaching method in the "Ethics and Rule of Law" class in junior high school,expounding the characteristics and significance of this teaching method,and summarizing its application.The status quo,and focused on the analysis of the problems and causes in the application.At the same time,according to the causes of the problems,the strategies to improve the application effect are analyzed from the basic methods,basic approaches and applicable content,highlighting the importance of the exploratory teaching method.It plays an important role in promoting the professional growth of teachers,cultivating students’ higher-order thinking ability,and adapting to the adjustment of teaching materials.
