With the continuous development of education modernization,the way of teaching and learning has gradually changed,and technology has been integrated into the field of education,which has injected new vitality into education reform.Junior high school geography as a key subject to cultivate students with all-round development in our country.However,there are still many problems in the actual teaching process,such as teachers and students paying no attention to it,students lacking of interest and so on.Therefore,in order to better promote the curriculum reform of geography and stimulate students’ interest in learning geography,new theories and new technologies are urgently needed as an assistance.The rise of game-based leaning and educational games has brought a new development direction for the development of geography,which can stimulate students’endogenous motivation to learn geography and cultivate students’ autonomous learning and inquiry ability.Through literature research,action research,questionnaire survey and interview,this paper funds that although there are many researches on educational games and game-based leaning,most of them are about children and primary school students,few about middle school students and middle school geography.Besides,the research types are not diversified enough to flexibly apply to and integrate with teaching.Therefore,this study will design and develop educational games according to the needs of teachers and students obtained from the field survey,combined with the specific curriculum content,and study the junior high school geography teaching from both theoretical and practical aspects.This paper will greatly contribute to an effective process for developing resources of game-based geography teaching.The design of education platform is inseparable from the guidance of theory.Based on constructivist learning theory,humanistic learning theory and game-based leaning theory,this paper uses unity3d development tool to design and develop educational games for middle school geography.This paper first,obtains the needs of teachers and students through questionnaire survey and interview analysis of teachers and students in Changchun No.85 middle school;second,establishes the game content,game framework,game interface design and interaction design based on the goal and principle of game design;and finally completes the test and release of educational games.In order to explore whether the educational game has achieved the predictive effect,this study interviews teachers and students’ senses,opinions and suggestions of experience,and concludes whether the introduction of the educational game has significantly improved students’ learning attitude,class participation and knowledge mastery.The results show that the game based learning concept of junior high school geography education game can effectively improve students’learning interest and enthusiasm,participation,as well as memorization of knowledge,and also can stimulate students’ autonomous learning and inquiry learning ability to a certain extent.This study confirms the feasibility of using game learning and educational games in geography teaching,and provides a new idea and perspective for the design of geography teaching resources.
