The Impact Of Public Investment On Regional Innovation Capability

Innovation is the first driving force leading development.Whether we are looking at the construction of the world’s science and technology power,or to support high-quality economic and social development,or to seek methods and answers from scientific and technological innovation.As General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized,China’s economic and social development and improvement of people’s livelihood need more technology solutions than ever before,and the need to enhance the first power of innovation.Public investment is very important for the development of each region,but also can better reflect the economic development of the region.Therefore,the study of the specific impact of public investment on regional innovation ability can help many regions to adjust the public investment structure and improve the regional innovation ability.Based on the problem of insufficient development of innovation capacity in some regions,this paper selects the provincial panel data of 31 regions in 2009-2018,and analyzes the following by using panel data model: on the one hand,the impact of public investment on innovation capability is analyzed on the one hand,and the expansion of public investment in each region will help to improve regional innovation capability,and at the same time,it can also be used for all regions The district attracts people with different knowledge and skills.Different types of investment have different impact on innovation ability.Among them,education,science and technology,social security,employment,medical and health investment are the most obvious,while the other two types of investment are relatively not obvious.On the other hand,31 regions are divided into eastern,central and western regions to further study the impact of public investment on innovation capability.The empirical results show that the most obvious impact on innovation capacity in the eastern region is scientific and technological,medical and health and transportation investment;the most obvious impact on innovation ability in the central region is education and scientific and technological investment;the western region The most obvious impact on innovation ability in the district is the investment in science and technology and health care,and the above analysis provides reasonable suggestions for each region.
