Nowadays,more and more media appear in people's daily life.For middle school students,having a good media literacy can not only better distinguish information and deal with information,but also learn to treat problems critically.However,at present,the media literacy level of middle school students is not high.In the face of a large number of information,they can't quickly select useful information,can't see the true meaning behind the information,and easily lose themselves in the wave of information.Compared with foreign countries,the level of media literacy education in China is still relatively backward.Therefore,how to carry out good media literacy education for middle school students and improve their media literacy is an urgent problem in current education.After the research,we found that there are similarities between media literacy and Chinese literacy,we can use Chinese teaching to cultivate students' media literacy.At present,there is no independent course related to media literacy education in junior high school in China,so we can promote the improvement of students' media literacy with the help of Chinese course.Starting from the media literacy and Chinese teaching of middle school students,this study chooses the reading teaching as a starting point.First of all,this paper analyzes the relationship between them,and makes it clear that media literacy is the extension of Chinese literacy,and they promote each other and develop together.We can use Chinese reading teaching to improve the media literacy of middle school students.The improvement of students' media literacy can also promote students' independent reading ability.Then,we make a questionnaire survey on the current situation of the media cultivation of middle school students and teachers' attitude and use of media.Through the analysis of the questionnaire survey of students and teachers,we can find that the current understanding and use ability of middle school students to the media is insufficient,and the ability to criticize and question the media needs to be improved.Therefore,it is absolutely necessary for us to make good use of reading teaching,put forward effective methods and strategies from the aspects of enriching the contents of media literacy in Chinese teaching materials,introducing media into reading teaching,innovating the teaching methods of news texts,cultivating students' critical thinking,etc.,and use reading teaching as an effective way to improve the media literacy of junior high school students,so as to continuously strengthen reading ability To promote the development of students.
