The new curriculum standard(2017 Edition)aims to cultivate students' core literacy of biology,and attaches importance to students' practical experience in the teaching process.Experimental teaching is an important way to cultivate students' core literacy,and its status has correspondingly improved.In order to research on the status of biology experiment teaching in Chongqing senior high school,the author conducted the questionnaire surveys and interviews with all biology teachers and some students of grade 1 and 2 in three directly-owned middle schools and sixteen non-directly-owned middle schools,and combined with the observation in internship school.The surveys of teachers include the construction of laboratories,the rate of experimentation,the faculty of teachers,and the attitude in biology experiment teaching.the surveys of students include students' attitudes towards experimental classes and instruction time of experimental teaching,and learning behaviors.The results of the surveys found that all schools have established biological laboratories,and a few schools have also established interdisciplinary comprehensive laboratories,which guarantees the teaching place for teachers and students.From the perspective of teaching age and academic qualifications,the faculty is relatively strong,and it is constantly improving,which is more conducive to improving the quality of biological experiment teaching.In the process of experimental teaching,the vast majority of teachers will leave more time for students to operate,increasing the chances for students to experiment.However,there are still some problems in experimental teaching,such as:(1)The construction of biological laboratories in some non-directly-owned middle schools is incomplete,and the equipment of experimental instruments,reagents,biological specimens,and models are inadequate;the professionalism of experimenters in some schools needs to be improved;(2)The vast majority of schools only open laboratories in the experimental course;(3)the rate of experimentation is low;(4)Some teachers have outdated teaching concepts.The idea of "test-oriented education" is serious;(5)Most teachers focus on theoretical knowledge,neglect the students' experimental skills;(6)Some students do not correctly treat experimental class,learning attitude and habits need to be corrected.In response to the results of the research,the author recommends:(1)Strengthen the management of experimental teaching;(2)Improve the evaluation system of biological experiments;(3)Strengthen and improve the construction and management of biological laboratories;(4)Reasonably arrange the content and instruction time of experimental teaching;(5)Change the concepts of some teachers and students.Due to the author's limited time and ability,the number of schools surveyed is relatively small,and there is a lack of practical research.In future,a more detailed plan will be formulated to promote educational research fullness.
