| Traditional powerful bodybuilding countries monopolize the medals of the Olympia Bodybuilding Contest while China is highly lagging behind the highest international level.In order to improve the competitiveness of China in bodybuilding events,a statistical and comparative analysis is made in this paper on the results of 10 individual competitions in 13 Olympia Bodybuilding Contests from 2007 to 2019 in view of time,districts,countries and the competition participation scale,etc.so as to summarize the international bodybuilding competition situation,find out rules of development,and provide more to support the development of Chinese competitive bodybuilding.The results of this study:1.The United States leads on the medal list in various events,but Brazil and the United Kingdom have broken through the monopoly of the United States on gold medals in women's fitness and 212 men's bodybuilding events.2.The number of Chinese athletes who have won the professional card of the Olympia Bodybuilding Contest grows sharply,men do better than women and show their abilities and talents on the stage of Olympia bodybuilding,but are still highly lagging behind competitors from top-rank bodybuilding countries.3.The results of the Olympia Bodybuilding Contest are internationally and seriously unbalanced.4.The number of countries and athletes participating in the Olympia Bodybuilding Contest is increasing with the influence of the events,more and more countries have won world-class medals,but the competitiveness on the gold medal is still concentrated in a few countries.5.In order to generalize the bodybuilding events and enlarge the worldwide acceptance of these events,various events and more widely distributed medals are set by the International Federation of Bodybuilding,but gold medals are still concentrating.Therefore,the followings suggestions are made:1.Understand the rules of the Olympia Bodybuilding Contest and work out a system in line with the development of China bodybuilding events.Improve the domestic bodybuilding competition system,sports event culturing and management system,choose talented athletes by the advantages in Chinese population.2.Promote the combination of bodybuilding events and marketization,develop mass bodybuilding events together with competitive ones,create a favorable atmosphere and mass foundation for the future development of Chinese bodybuilding,and make bodybuilding a new growth point in national economic development.3.Appropriately import foreign high-level events to satisfy the mass demand for watching high-level events,create opportunities for the exchange of high-level athletes at home and abroad,and satisfy the mass requirement for aesthetic judgment when improving the competitiveness of bodybuilding athletes.4.Create opportunities for athletes and coaches to communicate and learn,learn advanced theories and methods,and introduce high-level bodybuilding coaches to provide long-term guidance for our national teams and other high-level bodybuilding teams.5.Always pay attention to active measures of powerful bodybuilding countries on their sports systems,athlete selection,coach training,scientific research,and exchange learning,etc.,strengthen the cooperation and exchanges with surrounding powerful bodybuilding countries,improve the regional bodybuilding competitiveness,and form a favorable competition atmosphere.6.To increase the talent training in 212 men's fitness events,it is suggested to make appropriate adjustments based on the fact that the monopoly of men's fitness events is relatively high and the reserves of China's elite men's fitness athletes are relatively sufficient.In order to increase the talent reserve of female physique athletes appropriately,women's sports should strengthen the technical exchanges with the strong states of American bodybuilding and participate in more bodybuilding and fitness competitions held in this region. |
