With the proposal of "big Chinese view" and "Chinese core literacy",the state attaches more and more importance to Chinese extracurricular reading,which is shown in the examination oriented education examination as follows: the reading score is increased,the examination content is extensive,and the form is flexible.This means that it is very important to improve students' Chinese extracurricular reading ability.However,there is a huge gap in Chinese literacy between urban and rural junior high school students due to the uneven management and educational resource distribution of rural junior high school boarding school in Guanyun area of Jiangsu Province.For example,according to the latest data released by Guanyun Education Bureau in 2020,the average score of urban junior high school Chinese is about 100,while that of rural junior high school is only about 70.According to the relevant data of Guanyun Education Bureau of Jiangsu Province,the number of rural junior high school students accounts for about 65% of the total local students,with a large number and a high proportion.However,due to the pressure of entering school,heavy schoolwork burden and less spare time,students lack the spirit of independent inquiry in their spare time,especially in the field of Chinese extracurricular reading,and schools rarely carry out extracurricular reading activities,which results in rural students' Chinese reading It is difficult to improve the reading level,so solving the problem of rural junior high school boarding students' extracurricular reading teaching plays an important role in improving the overall level of urban and rural Chinese reading teaching.Based on stimulus response theory and Gestalt theory,based on the research of domestic and foreign scholars,the author conducted a simple survey on the situation of rural junior high school boarding students' Chinese extracurricular reading.The survey found that there are mainly the following problems: first,students' reading awareness is weak,bad habits,reading efficiency is low,and students have no time and love to read classic literature.According to the survey,about 90% of the students think it is necessary to read.About 60% of the students like reading,but only about 20% of the students can arrange their reading time by themselves.Second,teachers pay less attention to extracurricular reading and the guidance of reading methods is not in place.By comparison,teachers with teaching experience of more than 15 years and less than 3 years pay more attention to reading.Third,only a small number of schools set up special extra-curricular reading courses,and the utilization rate of school library is low,and the school lacks the mobilization of teachers' self reading enthusiasm.In view of the above problems,the author puts forward improvement strategies from three aspects of students,teachers and schools,in order to change the situation of rural junior high school boarding students' Chinese extracurricular reading: first,stimulate students' active potential and cultivate students' interest in reading,that is to advocate life experience teaching and establish competition mechanism,and make students develop reading habits by using stimulus response theory.Second,we should attach importance to the effectiveness of teachers' role models,strengthen the guidance and organization of extracurricular reading activities,that is to say,we should adopt correct reading methods such as speed reading,and pay attention to the cultivation of students' basic reading ability.At the same time,teachers are encouraged to read in large quantities to help students choose appropriate extracurricular reading materials.Third,the school should give full play to the overall effectiveness of the school,creating an atmosphere of extracurricular reading for teachers and students,that is,reasonably arranging time,improving the library system,and comprehensively opening books to students Libraries and schools regularly carry out literary activities to improve teachers' and students' reading autonomy,and organize teachers' extracurricular reading teaching training.
