The acquisition of Chinese characters in Korean senior high schools has a direct impact on the development of Korean Chinese teaching.Through interviews and researches,the author finds that there are some problems in teaching and learning in Korean ordinary high schools at present,basing on the author’s own teaching experience in Incheon area.The problems of teaching include many things,such as the course is not valued;the lesson frequency in not enough;the Chinese character teaching is lack;the teacher’s professionalism is insufficient;the Chinese character teaching is not required;the partner teaching mode has disadvantages;teaching methods are outdated;and so on.”The problems of learning include students’ Chinese character writing and reading ability is poor;the Chinese character learning lacks method and effectiveness;lack of learning motivation;lack of time for learning Chinese characters;separation or confusion of Chinese Classics and modern Chinese language courses;fear of difficulties in learning Chinese characters,etc.The existence of these problems is related to the following reasons: the language policy is changeable;the edition of teaching materials is diverse;the content of teaching materials is not balanced;the curriculum status is not high;the frequency of courses is not enough;the professional talent of Chinese character teaching are not enough;the partner teaching mode has disadvantages;the teaching method is inefficient;the learning strategy of students is not good;the internal motivation of students is not enough,and the learning time of students is not enough and so on.In order to improve the efficiency of Chinese character teaching in South Korea,this study puts forward solutions from the perspective of policy,curriculum,teaching materials,teachers and other relevant aspects,and from the perspective of learning strategy,emotional factors,learning duration,Chinese character background and other relevant aspects.
