College is an important period of adolescent socialization, when college students meet many new challenges.Adapt to these many challenges, college students can truly realize independence,go to society from school, and obtain good development.Adaptation is the central problem of the development of college students, and the important significance of the study of social adaptation of college students is obvious. But previous studies have focused on their academic performance, and there is still a lack of attention to their social adaptation.Previous studies have found that emotional intelligence, general self-efficacy and coping style are important factors influencing social adaptation respectively, and there are close relationships among the three pairs.According to the previous research and literature analysis of the relationship between the four,we can build a chain mediation model. The emotional intelligence Scale,Social Adaptation Scale,General Self-efficacy Scale and Simple Coping Style Scale were used to investigate 400 college students in a general university in Shaoguan city. This paper analyzes the relationship among college students' social adaptation, emotional intelligence, general self-efficacy and coping style. In order to practice the driving orientation of scientific and practical research,it will enrich the relevant theoretical basis for the good development of social adaptation of college students. The research conclusions are as follows:(1)The emotional intelligence, general self-efficacy,and social adaptation of college students are relatively good, and are at the upper middle level. The positive coping style adopted by college students was significantly higher than the negative coping style.(2)The emotional intelligence, general self-efficacy,and social adaptation of college students differ in demographic variables. In terms of gender variables, female college students' social adaptation, emotional intelligence, general self-efficacy,and active coping are significantly higher than those of male college students; In terms of whether they are student cadre variables, the social adaptation, emotional intelligence, and general self-efficacy of student cadres and college students are significantly higher than those of non-student cadres; In the divorced family variable, the social adaptation, emotional intelligence, and general selfefficacy of college students from divorced families are significantly lower than those of nondivorced families; In terms of whether there is only one child, the social adaptability, emotional intelligence, and general self-efficacy of the only child college students are significantly lower than those of non-only child college students.(3)The general self-efficacy in the chain multiple intermediary effects between emotional intelligence and college students 'social adaptation, the single-step intermediary effect is not significant, and the general self-efficacy's influence on college students' social adaptation is completely mediated by coping styles.(4)The coping style has a single-step intermediary effect among the chain multiple intermediary effects between emotional intelligence and social adaptation of college students, indicating that emotional intelligence can directly affect the level of college students 'social adaptation, and can also affect the social adaptation of college students through coping styles.(5)The general self-efficacy and positive response have significant chain multiple intermediary effects between emotional intelligence and social adaptation of college students.Specifically, emotional intelligence can directly affect the social adaptation of college students, and the direct effect accounts for 85.67% of the total effect.it can also indirectly affect the social adaptation of college students by actively responding, and the indirect effect accounts for 12.00% of the total effect. It can also influence the positive coping through the general sense of self-efficacy,and then affect the social adaptation of college students. The chain mediating effect accounts for 2.00% of the total effect.(6)The general self-efficacy and negative coping have significant chain multiple mediating effects between emotional intelligence and college students' social adaptation.Specifically, emotional intelligence can directly affect college students' social adaptation, with the direct effect accounting for 90.00% of the total effect. It can also indirectly influence college students' social adaptation through negative coping, with the indirect effect accounting for 8.67% of the total effect. It can also influence the negative coping through the general sense of selfefficacy, and then affect the social adaptation of college students. The chain mediating effect accounts for 1.33% of the total effect.
