For a long time,researchers have been focusing on the definition of the backward children in mathematics and the mechanism of the formation of the backward children in mathematics.However,there are few researches on the intervention of the backward children in mathematics,especially on the real classroom teaching,the content of teaching materials and teaching,so that the backward students in mathematics cannot get timely and effective education and correction.Since the early stage of primary school is the foundation period for the formation of mathematical concepts and foundations,according to the characteristics of age,the acquisition of mathematical concepts and foundations in the lower grades of primary school needs a lot of practical operations.The core of Montessori’s mathematics education is to let children learn mathematics by operating real objects,and provide support for children’s mathematics learning by using abstract mathematical concepts through concrete objects.Therefore,based on the general and special theory of learning disabilities,combined with the current primary school mathematics syllabus and content requirements as well as the part of Montessori mathematics education,this paper explores an intervention strategy that can effectively correct mathematics learning backwardness.Study 1:Based on the characteristics of mathematics learning in the lower grades,this study summarizes the main defects in mathematics learning of the backward children.According to the teaching objectives and knowledge points of the textbooks compiled by the Ministry,combined with the Montessori mathematics education materials and operation theory,the knowledge points of the textbooks are corresponding to the Montessori teaching aids,determine the curriculum system,and develop a set of targeted and scientific numbers Learn intervention materials.Study 2:This study explored whether the mathematics intervention textbooks have significant improvement on the mathematics ability and academic performance of the children with mathematics academic backwardness in the first grade.A primary school learning support center in Xi’an was selected to have 20%lower scores in academic screening,above the middle level of intelligence,and 10%lower scores in Mathematics in the last three examinations.40 students were selected as subjects according to teacher recommendation and classroom behavior observation of professional researchers.They were divided into experimental group and control group with 20 students in each group.After a period of time and a fixed frequency of intervention experiments,the effectiveness of mathematics intervention textbooks and the scientific of intervention strategies are verified by the first grade mathematics ability test and standardized cognitive ability evaluation system.Study 3:This study further proves the effectiveness of the intervention strategy based on Montessori mathematics by using the learning quality and classroom behavior changes of the students who are lagging behind in mathematics learning after the intervention.The changes of learning quality of the two groups of students before and after the intervention were recorded with learning quality table,and then the process data of behavior changes of the subjects before,during and after the intervention were synthesized with classroom observation table and teacher interview record.Through the above research,the following results are obtained:1.The mathematics intervention materials based on Montessori’s mathematics education theory and teaching aids operation are in line with the cognitive characteristics of children with mathematics learning backwardness2.Montessori’s mathematics intervention materials have a better correction effect on the mathematics academic performance of low-grade mathematics backward children,and have a significant improvement on their ability in number concept,problem-solving and simultaneous processing.3.Montessori’s mathematics intervention materials have a positive impact on the learning quality of children with mathematics learning backwardness,which is mainly reflected in children’s classroom behavior.
