Kindergarten science education is the process of triggering,supporting and guiding young children to actively explore,experience the process of exploration and discovery,and gain experience about the surrounding material world and its relationship.As an important part of kindergarten science education,the core of scientific inquiry is to stimulate children’s interest in inquiry,experience the process of inquiry,germinate scientific emotion,develop the ability of preliminary inquiry and problem-solving,and make children form a good attitude and ability of scientific learning through carrying out scientific inquiry activities.Picture books have been paid more attention by the educational circles in recent years and have become the focus of research.The educational value of picture books has also been widely recognized and applied to all fields of kindergarten teachingBy means of observation method,interview method and action research method,this study carried out three scientific inquiry activity themes,four action cycles of scientific inquiry activities,and combined four related picture books with the research object of a large class of children in C kindergarten.The study concluded that: first,the selection of picture books should be combined with the contents of kindergarten scientific inquiry activities;second,it broadens the way of kindergarten scientific inquiry activities;third,the use of picture books to carry out kindergarten scientific inquiry activities will help to improve the scientific quality of young children.easy to understand scientific principles and scientific phenomena.
