Concept understanding is the first step for students to learn mathematics,but it is also the one that is most easily overlooked.The great weathervane of the college entrance examination puts the center of teachers and students on the application of knowledge.With different emphasis,the direction of students' efforts will also change,followed by changes in mathematics learning habits.The purpose of this article is to evaluate students 'concept understanding through mathematical models.Starting from the concept,comprehensively evaluate students' mathematical concept learning,understand students 'more detailed learning in concept learning,and find out problems in students' concept understanding.The results were analyzed in depth,and corresponding suggestions were finally put forward as a reference for teachers teaching and students' learning process.This study takes the evaluation of students' understanding of the concept of trigonometric functions as the starting point,and selects senior high school students and first-line teachers and expert teachers in two classes of two four-star high schools in different cities of Jiangsu Province.Surveys and interviews collect information to explore students' understanding of the concept of trigonometric functions.This paper refines the model based on the existing evaluation models and makes appropriate changes.The main research questions in this article are:1.How do senior students understand the concept of trigonometric functions?2.What are the main reasons that affect the freshman students to understand the concept of trigonometric functions?3.Is there a correlation between the academic performance of the freshman and his understanding of the concept of trigonometric functions?4.What methods can help students understand the concept of trigonometric functions?The study found that:(1)The test results of the two schools were not much different,but the overall performance of the students was not satisfactory.In the four dimensions of understanding,the connection dimension is the worst,and the gap within the students is also obvious.Some students can only unidirectionally connect out the most basic trigonometric functions.In the dimension of the application of concepts,the score of mathematical applications is lower.The second is concept perception.Students' performance in the definition of statements is not ideal.The representation dimension of the concept is better than the other three dimensions,and the symbolic representation is better than the image representation.(2)There are many reasons that affect students' understanding of the concept of trigonometric functions,mainly including dependence on special angles;ignoring the significance of the existence of arbitrary angles;the knowledge of trigonometric functions is relatively narrow;lack of reflection.(3)There is not much correlation between the academic performance of senior students and the level of understanding of trigonometric functions.According to the research results,this article gives the following suggestions:(1)Pay attention to the study of the concept of trigonometric functions,especially the understanding of independent variables.(2)Strengthen the understanding of the concept of arbitrary angles and functions.(3)Strengthen the connection between trigonometric functions and reality.(3)Focus on reflection training and strengthen concept construction.
