Function is the core content of high school mathematics,and it is the line fromthe beginning to the end,is also the foundation of higher mathematics.This researchtotally takes a number of125people of senior high school which is in ChuZhoumiddle school,Anhui province,with the use of APOS theory,emphasizes the students’mathematical concept construction to undergo four levels:Action level, Processlevel,Object level and Schema level,by using interviews, questionnaires forinvestigations and software Excle and SPSS19.0for data collation,analysis.This studyis finding that: in the concept of the function in the process of the construction, moststudents can achieve the Action level and the Process level,a part of the students canachieve the Object level,few students only achieve the schema level. In the Objectand schema level,as a result of sex difference, boys seem betrter than girls;in thefunction concept construction,students of key class seem better than students ofordinary class.Teachers’ teaching are the main factor to the function of concept.Inorder to promote high school students’ understanding of mathematics,teachers shouldestablish the emphasis on understanding the concept of teaching firstly,and payattention to seize or create the promotion of understanding rightly,develop high schoolstudents’ ability of understand in mathematics step by step.
