This paper takes the imagination of Tibet in Haizi’s poetry as the object of study, and analyses and discusses Haizi’s poetic creation from three aspects, looking back at the Tibetan fever in the poetry world in the 1980 s and Haizi’s own love for Tibet to analyse the reasons for Haizi’s imagination of Tibet, the writing of Tibetan images in Haizi’s poetry, and the way Haizi imagines Tibet to explore the artistic value of his poetry. The thesis is divided into three parts: the introduction, the body, and the conclusion. The main text consists of three chapters: Chapter 1 analyses the reasons why Haizi imagined Tibet in the cultural context of the 1980 s.As the cultural ’other’,Han Chinese writers were in awe of Tibet’s unique geographical conditions and Tibetan religious culture, and had a desire to explore it.At that time, there was a huge movement of "roots" thinking, and countless poets went to Tibet to seek inspiration for their epic poems. The second chapter discusses Haizi’s writing on the image of Tibet in his poetry. It was the best spiritual home for Haizi to pursue freedom, escape from reality and heal himself;it was the best place for his spiritual flight;it was the best space for him to cleanse his soul and reshape his poetry.Haizi’s epic ideal is also set in ancient Tibet, through which he excavates the ancient Eastern culture, explores the source of human civilisation, and seeks a divine habitat for mankind in the world of poetry. The third chapter focuses on the ways in which Haizi imagines Tibet. The imagery spectrum of Tibet in Haizi’s poetry is made up of three types of imagery: stones,snow-capped mountains and wild flowers. The stone refers to the solitary meaning and physical presence of Tibet in Haizi’s poetry;the snowy mountain imagery is the presentation of Haizi’s will in his poetry;and the wild flower is a symbol of the vigorous and free life force and the incarnation of the gods on the plateau.Standing on the cultural soil of Tibet,Haizi’s poetry differs from the linear time of advancement,in which he divides time into eternal time and reincarnated time, constantly contemplating life and perceiving truth in his closed and still poetry.Haizi is influenced by Tibetan culture in his poetry, which is chanted in folk-like language, simple and repetitive with a clear rhythm and a quaint and clear folk flavour. The charming imagery of Tibet in Haizi’s poetry gives his poetry an extremely rare quality of purity, contributing to our nation’s immortal poetry of innocence and romance, yet fiery and majestic.
