In the first chapter,the history and development of Boundary Painting will be described.Given the classical picture of the summer palace of Emperor in the Ming Dynasty by Guo Zhongshu and Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival by Zhang eduan in Song dynasty as two examples,the thesis gives some description on Boundary Painting from the point of their historical background,painting content,formation,and language interpretation.In the second chapter,the author explains the continuation of Boundary Painting in modern times and characteristics of the times through the analysis and interpretation of contemporary paintings and some works of urban themes and analyze the complementary commonness between Boundary Painting and urban landscape based on thinking of them two.In the third chapter,the thesis is concentrated on the author's painting the city of landscape--skyline to analyse the design ideas,meaning and value of the painting and to describe the employment of the presence of writing language and the materials.The author made the landscape painting as the current representative of Boundary Painting by author's creative paintings.
