| The selected text of the translation practice report is Chapter 1 and 2 of the research book The potential of agroecology to build climate-resilient livelihoods and food systems.It is a research report published in 2020 with the theme of climate change,agroecology,and national policy.Currently,there is no Chinese version available.This research report is logical,informative,and rigorous with frequently used terminologies,difficult titles,and numerous long sentences.Therefore,the translator focuses on the translation of terms,titles,and long sentences.Specifically,when translating terminologies,the translator chooses the method of equivalent translation,provincial translation,and context analysis;When discussing the titles’ translation,the translator follows the accuracy dimension,completeness dimension and readability dimension;For the translation of long sentences,the translator adopts the method of “adjusting word order and integrating sentence boundaries”.The purpose is to restore the rigor,accuracy,information transmission and other characteristics of the research report to the maximum extent. |
