| The selected text of the translation practice report is the third chapter "Smart City Technologies" of the scientific and technical book Smart City.It mainly introduces smart city technologies and platforms in use or under development and expounds the author's critical thinking about them.Based on the content and text features,the translator analyzes and solves the difficulties from two aspects.At the lexical level,the methods of annotation,context analysis,shift of perspectives and highlight of emotion are adopted for the translation of technical words.At the sentence level,the omitted components in the sentences are translated through adopting structural addition,semantic addition and temporal addition to ensure the integrity of the translation;and the complex sentence structures are clarified through shifting language units,adjusting word orders and adjusting sentence boundaries to ensure the smoothness of the translation.The translator summarizes the translation practice in the hope of providing references for the future translation of such texts. |
