The Soviet Union was the first socialist country in the world,and it had a profound influence on the course of China's history.It also profoundly influenced the Chinese writer Wang Meng(1934-).Wang Meng is a well-known contemporary Chinese writer.He has written nearly a hundred novels such as Youth Forever and Huo Dong Bian Ren Xing,some of which have been translated into more than 20 languages.He was the Minister of Culture of China,Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association,Secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Writers Association,Editor-in-Chief of People's Literature,and Dean of the Chinese Academy of Art.He was awarded the Mondello Literature Award in Italy and the Soka Gakkai Peace and Culture Prize in Japan.And he received an honorary doctorate degree from the Far East Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences,etc.He was elected as a member of the 12 th and 13 th Central Committees,and a member of the8 th,9th and 10 th CPPCC Standing Committee.Wang Meng was strongly influenced by Soviet ideology,literature and art.In his early years,he accepted the revolutionary ideas from the Soviet Union,joined the underground CCP at the age of 11 and embarked on the road of revolution.In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China,he participated in the fiery Sino-Soviet friendship movement,read a large number of Soviet literary works,borrowed artistic skills from them,and began his career as a writer.In Wang Meng's heart,the Soviet Union is a palace of revolution and art.After the split of China and the Soviet Union,Wang Meng's understanding of the Soviet Union changed in the social environment of anti-revisionism.In the 1980 s,Sino-Soviet relations were eased and the relations between the two countries were finally normalized.During this period,Wang Meng,who has grown into a famous writer and senior government official,visited the Soviet Union and his Soviet image was revised.In his later years,Wang Meng thought deeply about the Soviet Union,and he had a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the country.It should be pointed out that Wang Meng is one of the most watched Chinese writers in the Soviet Union and Russia.Some of his works have been translated into Russian and spread in Russia.Wang Meng's image of the Soviet Union contains rich information of the times.To explore Wang Meng's image of the Soviet Union will help reveal the perception of the Soviet Union among the intellectuals of the People's Republic of China and deepen the study of the history of Sino-Soviet relations.
